Among Us and For Us

When the people of Israel found themselves thirsty in the wilderness, they asked a question that echoes through every generation: “Is the Lord among us or not?” In moments of suffering, uncertainty, and fear, we often ask the same thing. God answered that question for Israel with water from the rock and He answers it ultimately in Jesus Christ. Christ has entered our broken world, carried our griefs, suffered for our sins, and now remains present with His people through His Word and Sacraments. In whatever wilderness we find ourselves in, the Lord is among us and for us.
