Weddings at Immanuel
Marriage is one of God’s greatest gifts—a lifelong union of husband and wife in a relationship of unconditional love. In Christian marriage, we rejoice in God’s design and in His blessing, trusting that He will grant joy, faithfulness, and strength for every season of life together. At Immanuel, it is our hope and prayer that your wedding day is filled with joy, and even more, that your life together is enriched by God’s blessing.
Because marriage is such a holy and significant gift, Immanuel takes care to prepare couples not only for a beautiful ceremony, but also for a strong and lasting marriage. Our pastors walk with couples through pre-marital counseling and preparation sessions, using tools like the Prepare/Enrich inventory or the SYMBIS inventory, offering Biblical wisdom, and providing practical guidance for life together. These sessions also allow couples and pastors to plan the wedding service itself in a way that reflects both the couple’s joy and God’s Word.
Consistent with Scripture and the doctrine of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, weddings at Immanuel are services that unite one man and one woman in marriage. Couples will meet with a pastor well in advance of the desired date to begin planning and preparing.
A wedding day is a beautiful beginning—but a thriving marriage is the true goal. We invite you to see this time of preparation as a gift, not a burden, as together we seek God’s blessing for your life as husband and wife. Weddings at Immanuel are ordinarily for couples where one or both are members of Immanuel, and intend to be nurtured through ongoing participation in the church.
