Holy Ordinary

In a world trained to chase the loud, the new, and the impressive, Mary teaches us another way. At the birth of her Son, Jesus, she treasured all these things and pondered them in her heart. God hides His greatest gifts in the ordinary. The Word spoken and heard. Bread and wine placed into our hands and mouths. Water poured with a promise. Even the daily gifts of family, food, and friends are holy and beautiful because they come from the Giver's gracious hand. Not everything is worth chasing, but some things are worth treasuring. In the holy ordinary, God is at work, giving Himself to us again and again.
