The Kettle, the Cry, the Coming King!

On this Second Sunday in Advent, where John the Baptist interrupts our comfortable routines with a clear and urgent call: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Today we hear again how our Lord steps into the kettle with us—entering our sin, our danger, and our need—so that through His baptism, cross, and resurrection He might pull us out to new life. As we gather, may the Spirit stir up our hearts, awaken repentance within us, and fix our eyes on the One who comes to save. We rejoice together that Christ is near, His mercy is sure, and His grace prepares us for His coming again in glory.
